Hybrid finance

Hybrid Finance

Battery condition is the biggest variable in what a used hybrid will be worth later, and it is the question most worth asking the seller. Dynamic Finance arranges the lending, and we will tell you plainly what it costs before you commit.

Hybrid Finance with Dynamic Finance

We are not tied to any dealership or manufacturer, so there is no sales target sitting behind the advice. One application goes across a panel of lenders, whether you are buying new, used, privately or at auction.

Ask us for numbers before you start negotiating rather than after. It does not affect your credit score to find out, and all lending is subject to lender assessment and approval.

Getting the term right

The term matters more than most people expect. A longer one lowers the repayment and raises the total interest, and the right answer depends on how long you intend to keep the vehicle rather than on what looks affordable this month.

We will show you a few terms side by side rather than only the one with the smallest monthly figure. If you are trading something in, tell us what is still owing on it - rolling negative equity into a new loan is common and worth understanding clearly before you agree to it.

Do electric vehicles cost more to run in New Zealand now?

Road user charges apply to electric vehicles, so the running cost is not simply the difference in your power bill. It is worth putting a real number on RUC for the distance you actually drive before you commit, rather than working from an assumption that predates the change.

Should I take a balloon payment on an EV?

Be careful with it. A balloon is a bet on what the vehicle is worth at the end of the term, and electric vehicle values have moved more than petrol equivalents in recent years. We will show you the numbers with and without one so you can see what you are actually taking on.

Is the battery covered by warranty?

Most manufacturers warrant the battery separately from the rest of the vehicle, often for longer. On a used EV the remaining battery warranty is worth checking directly with the manufacturer rather than relying on the listing, because it does more to set the vehicle's future value than the odometer does.

Why not the dealer’s finance?

The finance desk at a dealership works for the dealership. That is not a criticism, it is just who employs them.
