Almost certainly not the MTF you meant

MTF Finance

A multilateral trading facility is a European regulatory category for a share trading venue. We do not operate one, we cannot arrange finance for one, and there is a reasonable chance it is not what you had in mind when you typed MTF. If it was a car loan you were after, that part we can do.

About that acronym

MTF means different things depending on who is using it and which side of the world they are standing on. In European financial regulation it is a multilateral trading facility. In a New Zealand car yard, it usually is not.

We are an asset finance broker. We arrange loans for cars, utes, trucks, boats and machinery. Operating a trading venue is not among the things we do, and we would be the wrong people to ask about one. If you have arrived here after a vehicle, you are in the right place for that even if you took an unusual route to get here - the Apply button already has a car loan selected.

What a multilateral trading facility actually is

A multilateral trading facility, or MTF, is a category created by the European Union's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. It describes a venue that brings together multiple third-party buying and selling interests in financial instruments, under non-discretionary rules, in a way that results in a contract.

Put more plainly, it is an alternative to a traditional stock exchange. A regulated market such as the London Stock Exchange is one kind of trading venue. An MTF is another, usually operated by an investment firm rather than by an exchange, and generally subject to lighter admission requirements than a full listing.

New Zealand does not use the term at all. Trading venues here are licensed as financial product markets under the Financial Markets Conduct Act and supervised by the Financial Markets Authority. If you are reading about MTFs in a New Zealand context, the source is almost certainly European.

None of which is something we can help you with. Vehicle and equipment finance, on the other hand, is the entire job.
