About that acronym
UDC is another of those initialisms that lands differently depending on where you are standing. In Washington DC it is the district's public university. Typed into a search bar in New Zealand, it tends to be finance on the mind rather than higher education.
Either way, we should be straightforward about it. We are an asset finance broker. We arrange loans for cars, utes, trucks, boats and machinery. We do not fund tuition, course fees or living costs while you study, and we are not connected to any university.
So what can we actually help with?
If you are after help with study costs in New Zealand, that is StudyLink's territory rather than ours. Student loans and allowances are administered through the Ministry of Social Development, and no broker sits between you and that.
What we do arrange is finance for things you can drive, tow or work with. A car to get to campus, and to a job afterwards, is a perfectly ordinary thing to finance. Being a student does not rule you out either - lenders assess income and existing commitments rather than job titles, and part-time work counts. All lending is subject to lender assessment and approval, and we will tell you plainly whether something is likely to fly before you go through an application.
And for the record, the University of the District of Columbia is the district's only public university, a land-grant institution and a historically Black college. A fine place, and entirely outside our lending panel.
