Kiwi Car Loans
Car finance arranged in New Zealand, for New Zealanders, by a broker based here. One application goes across a panel of lenders rather than to a single bank, whether you are buying new from a dealer, used from a yard, privately or at auction.
- Same-day approvals available

- 100% New Zealand owned
Kiwi Car Loans with Dynamic Finance
We are a New Zealand owned finance broker, and everything we arrange is settled here. That matters more than it sounds, because a lender assessing a New Zealand application looks at New Zealand income and a New Zealand credit file, and knows what a seasonal contract or an irregular pay cycle actually looks like in this country.
We are not tied to a dealership or a manufacturer, so there is no sales target sitting behind the advice. Ask us for numbers before you start negotiating rather than after - it does not affect your credit score to find out, and knowing the repayment puts you in a better position on the day.
Buying privately, at auction, or out of town
A good share of the best cars in the country are sold privately, and that is where finance usually gets awkward - the seller wants cleared funds and you want to know your money is safe until the car is yours.
We settle directly with the seller and run a PPSR check first, so you are not buying somebody else's debt along with the car. Auction purchases and vehicles bought in another town work the same way. You do not need to be near an office for any of it - documents are signed electronically and we pay the seller wherever they are.
All lending is subject to lender assessment and approval, and we will tell you the outcome either way rather than leaving your application sitting.
Can I get a car loan if I am self-employed?
Yes. Self-employment is normal in New Zealand and several lenders on our panel assess it properly rather than treating it as a problem. If you do not have a full set of year-end accounts, say so early - some lenders work from bank statements and contract income instead, and we would rather send your application to those than to one that was never going to say yes. All lending is subject to lender assessment and approval.
Does applying affect my credit score?
Asking us for numbers does not. We can tell you what a loan would cost and over what term without touching your credit file. A formal application is different, which is why we would rather establish that something is likely to work before we submit it anywhere.
Can I pay the loan off early?
Usually yes, though whether there is a cost depends on the lender and the contract. Some charge an early repayment fee, others do not. It is worth asking before you sign rather than after, and we will tell you which lenders on the panel are more flexible about it.
Why not the dealer’s finance?
The finance desk at a dealership works for the dealership. That is not a criticism, it is just who employs them.
