Laconic, and why it is the right idea
Sparta sat in Laconia, which is where the word laconic comes from - saying the thing in as few words as possible and then stopping. It is an underrated quality in an industry that has made an art form of the long maybe.

The short answers
Most of what people want from a broker is a yes or a no, delivered early enough to still be useful. A slow maybe is worse than a fast no, because a fast no lets you go and try something else while the vehicle is still for sale.
So we would rather tell you at the outset that something is unlikely to fly than take you through an application built to collect a decline. That costs us the occasional deal and saves you the week.
How long does an answer take?
Usually the same day, often within a couple of hours. If it is going to take longer than that we will tell you why rather than leaving it quiet.
Will you tell me if the answer is no?
Yes, and quickly. An application that goes silent is the single most common complaint people have about finance, and it is entirely avoidable.
Can I get a rough number before applying?
Yes. Asking what something would cost does not affect your credit score and is not an application. All lending is subject to lender assessment and approval.
